to start walking to school!
I never do things the easy way it seems. I have been wanting to do it for aaages but the wet weather has been putting me off, but it seems that the weather is here to stay for quite some time yet and at this rate I will never get around to doing it.
Sooo....I'd forgotten just how wet you can actually get on a wet school run, how awful the roads are on the route to school and how many BIG puddles we had to dodge as cars splashed them high to the sky.
How long it all takes, how it 'nips' into the day {I need to rejig my days timings slightly}, how very tired little legs get {tomorrow we'll take the pusher for the afternoon run}
All that aside though I am at the moment enjoying it, it can only get better weather wise, fitness wise Im sure my body will adjust to the sudden onslaught of exercise and the money I save will go towards the long list of 'wanties' I seem to be accruing!
What I haven't enjoyed is having to get a taxi home with the grocery shopping {I didn't plan that at all}, £6.70!! Outrageous.
Maybe I'll be able to do what I used to years ago and lug the shopping home up the enormous hills?
{Unlikely to happen in all honesty as it is a looong way and Im 10years older and unfitter}
I'll remember to charge the camera and get a few snaps of our route to school, it is ugly but even in this there is the odd spot of beauty
Sonds like a long, wet hike.
ReplyDeleteYou know I always thought our home to local shops walk was very ugly, mundane and depressing.....until I took along a camera and looked for the beauty. There was some after all. I even got a blog post out of it to remind me to look deeper.
Hope you find the beauty in your neighbourhood.
