Some people say Im bonkers...

but I tell them: no they're conkers.

We took a trip to the park to collect conkers last week. 

After rattling the branches a little we were snowed on with conkers

and they were HUGE!

We have crafty plans for the conkers, I'd like to make a conker wreath but so far Ive only managed to dry them out and pop a few in a vase, which although it looks very Autumnal isn't all I had hoped to do by now.

As well as a shower of conkers it rained beautiful ladybirds on us.  Whenever I see a ladybird I ALWAYS think of Florence.  A little girl whose mama Ive never met but who will always have a spot in my heart.

 

There were just so many ladybirds that Fonzy spent ages watching them and got really quite excited when he found even more...

We made the most of the fact that Loopy had her wellies on and she went for a lovely long paddle in the stream close by
