And then it rained...

Day 2 of cold wet drizzly weather.  Eurgh it's not the rain from previous weeks which was nice and made the grass & paths smell lovely.  Nope this is very much Autumnal rain - in August.

I feel completely like battening down the hatches & hibernating.  I've found myself looking through the recipe books for nice soups and again convincing myself that I can bake bread.  Im tempted to put a heater on but we have the lousy \& almost useless storage system and I can guarantee that by the time it heats up the warm weather will have returned and we'll be sat sweating.  (See Im still the optimist I am hoping that this cold snap will move on quickly).

Lolly has gone to the seaside with my sister & her daughter for a week.  This means that effectively I am without a camera for the week.  I will see if Abba has hers to hand & if I can borrow it.

For now I hope you all have a lovely weekend, Im almost praying for a dry day tomorrow so I can hit the Boot Sale!  If I do manage to get there I promise to show & tell Monday.

EDIT
First attempt at breadmaking was a miserable failure!  Dough didnt rise and was a solid lump with a cooked crust - I almost wet myself laughing at it.  Still if I can manage a couple more like that we can use them as home-made shot putts. (for once I was pleased not to have a camera to hand)
Lovely jubbly.

  1. Lol at the bread - maybe bake a few more and use them as sandbags for if the rain doesn't stop? ;-)
    Lovely blog by the way.

  2. So not ready for those fall feelings of battening down and hibernating! I still need many more weeks of summer.

  3. Ive not found time to give the bread another go, I should as I really enjoyed the kneading process and found it really theraputic.
    The weather is definately more Autumnal than Summer at the moment. The odd sunny day but just not enough!

Thanks for popping by...I love to hear from you and really appreciate you taking the time.
I am sorry about having to ask you to prove you're not a robot but for some reason I am having a LOT of spam nowadays {and we're not talking fritters!}
