15.08.10

  • Embroidery Stitches book 10p

  • Solid Wood chopping board (weighs just under 2kg!) 50p

  • Ring Bell sign 50p

  • Typhoon pink cake tin (with rubber band around lid for a seal) 50p

  • 2 x preserve jars 50p each

  • 3 x Oxford Tree books 10p
Total spend = £2.70

Whatever the weather was Saturday it was more than made up for on Sunday when we had glorious sunshine along with a lovely breeze to cool us down.  It costs £2 to get into the booty before 1pm but I think its well worth the extra spend and we aim to be there at 12 when the gates open.  Once again it was the last 2rows that proved a winner for me.  Last week I all but gave up and then stumbled upon an armful of bargains on the very last row.
The chopping board is brand new, has a lovely shequer effect on the front and it wouldnt suprise me to see it with a hefty price tag at the likes of John Lewis.  The preserves jars will come in handy if not this year then definately next seaon.  We have a small but growing collection of Oxford Learning Tree books, RV likes to read them and Loopy likes to listen along.  We started buying these when Abba was small but as they're so expensive new I limit them to boot sale buys.  Although the kitchen has no pink in it, the cake tin is perfect to actually use.  Others Ive seen look lovely but have no seal so dont keep the cakes fresh for more than the day. Anyway it'll go with the vintage inspired look Im planning for it.  Embroidery always catches my eye but I have no idea what stitches there are or how to do them, so at 10p this was the book for me!  The sign isnt for me, no-where in the house with those colours but Im hoping that my Sis may have a spot for it in her home, otherwise it'll go in the loft and wait to be sold when we do another boot sale.

A bit dissapointed not to find any bread or jam making books, but you cant be greedy can you!  Im still on the lookout for a 3tier wire fruit stand.  £8 in Homebase and Im sure I can find one at the booty, Ive seen one once before but didnt get it (like a wally).  Also on the lookout for a 3tier shelf unit or 3shelves for the kitchen but they have to be quite big so I might buy some cheper ones and paint them myself.  No rush for any of it though, Car Booty season around here goes on till October (weather permitting).

All in all a successful Sunday.
I've had a shopping fix, possibly saved a few bits from landfill and saved a small fortune to boot.

I think I'll make Show n Tell a regular Monday post, link me any of your car booty bargains if you'd like to Show n Tell too.

I am sorry about having to ask you to prove you're not a robot but for some reason I am having a LOT of spam nowadays {and we're not talking fritters!}
