I was moaning Tuesday that the weather was vile, which it was, then we wake up Wednesday to bright sunshine!
Fabulous!
So Wednesday we made a camp on the patio, now it may resemble shanty town refugee camp BUT it has enabled us to enjoy the sun. Paddling pool was promptly filled, children stripped themselves nudey, lashings of suncream applied and there you go a LOVELY day in the garden.
But Lolly being Lolly she had her heart set on baking, and knowing that the bananas were on their last leg she made the most delicious banana loaf, topped with a drizzle of icing! Using the ever faithful 'Dinner Lady' cookbook recipe, it really is a real hit in our house.
Teenagers are funny creatures! From being a busy bee in the kitchen to this in the shortest of times...
(granted it was hot outside)
to this later on...
After the dinner it was HOT in the house, no breeze but cooler outside so we headed to the park to feed the ducks and play on the swings. The ducks had gorged themselves silly and were no-where to be seen but the swans are greedy creatures and were more than happy to take out offerings, well what Fonzy would give them that is!
The circus was at the park and I was suprised to see this on several of the wagons! Brilliant, I dont think Ive ever seen a real life chip fat wagon before..
We finally made it to the swings, where Fonzy found a footbal someoone had left behind and looked after it until the owner returned! The girls were here, there and everywhere and as always made friends with the others who were in the park and Fonzy is still t obe convinced that swinging on the swings is actually fun!
What a lovely week, my patio looks like a disused camp site too now, towels and sheets everywhere :-) Nothing like making your own tents out of sheets.
