The highlight for today is that we are trying a variation on a theme for dinner tonight...

Pasticcio instead of moussaka 

A simple Greek inspired pasta bake.

I doubt if it will be a hit with the kiddos, they limit their dinners to what they know, like and are comfortable with.  

Not even sure if Bob will enjoy it as I've followed the recipe and gone for a different cheesey topping to the usual.  

In fact in all honesty when I do make moussaka I use sweet potato instead of aubergines and call it lamb bake as that sounds a lot less exotic

So there it i.... I found the news!  My moussaka isn't moussaka it is in fact lamb bake

Just to keep me guessing they all ate it!  

Bob declared it bloody lovely, Fonzy ate all his straight away and the other two ate theirs after a spot of initial complaining.

I would make these changes for us for the next one:

half the macc used, half the oregano, double the tomato puree and water

split into three dishes; kids one less meat sauce and no cheese topping, adults more meat and finally a veggie option of macc and cheese topping for Lolly!

Fantastic result another variation to add to the menu planner that EVERYONE will eat!!!

The excitement just never ends in this house.
