How has it come that breast feeding is seen as the alternative choice for feeding your child?
How have we managed to let ourselves become manipulated by the global companies that formula feeding is better for infants?
I'm lucky that I've breast fed all six of my children, I have had just over 9years breastfeeding them.
Hang on you say...9years for 6children?? Oh does that mean I fed them beyond the 6months that everyone seems to think is the norm? Yes it does.
it's a lovely uplifting piece
What do I want to say in this post?
I don't know I'm certainly not bragging neither am I offering a lecture on the benefits of breast milk.
I'd like breastfeeding to be the first choice for all of us
Mamas just don't have multi million £/$ budgets to lobby goverments or billion £/$ global advertising budgets
Im passionate about breastfeeding, Im not militant about it, but I am passionate about it
If you have the time take a look at the One Million campaign, sign the petition if you agree with its objectives...and try not to frown at the next mama you see breastfeeding a toddler

Oh and for all those lovely pro breastfeeding mamas who may pass by here...remember that not all bottle fed babies are being fed formula milk ;)
I have just counted up how many years I have spent feeding mine and it well over 9 ......wow! We need an award! x
ReplyDeleteWhen I had my eldest (she is now 12.5) I was really surprised that people even asked me how I was going to feed her. It hadn't even occurred to me not to!
ReplyDeleteI am passionate about breastfeeding and about letting people know it is not easy, but it is worth it. It is a learnt skill. And after not being able to breastfeed my youngest I am just very, very grateful I was able to breastfeed my first two.
And I think bragging is ok ;)
