Busy, busy, busy...

as a busy little bee!
We have been busy clearing, sorting and re-organising the sheds and gardens.
The front of the house now looks quite respectacle, the back however has taken a turn for the worse.  But you have to break a few eggs to make the omlette (and all that jazz)
After a bit of consideration we decided to just go for putting a new fence up between the neighbours and us...which has turned out for the best as we had a surprise this weekend when new people moved in!

So the honeysuckle and jasmine have been taken back to bare bones to make room for the fence and posts...its's been growing unchecked for the past 14years and had gotten really woody and entwined in the fence.  It's now laying across the garden path, shame no chickens here yet to root through it all Im sure there is a veritable bug feast in it.

Fonzy is now dry at nights...all done in his own time, no 'training' involved.  He simply stated that he didn't want to wear a nappy at night anymore - his nappy had been dry in the mornings for ages but he still felt the need to have the reassurance of it.

Loopy has had a huge leap in her reading.  Still on basic words but she is sounding them out so much more easily and recognising more high use words consistantly.  The writing side seems to have taken a side note in this leap but that's to be expected in my honest heart.  We still work most days at the table but everyday we do work just by talking (simple things but regularly, talking about Chuggington - curly 'c' and 'h' make the 'ch' sound etc)
I've not really put much effort into her numeracy, again we've done daily things like working out change but not actually sitting down to it...that is something we are starting to get to grips with.  Loopy is ready to so we'll embrace her momentum.
And we (I) have decided to take a look at the Tudors...

I've been stepping away from the internet at much as possible during the evenings...it's hard some nights but I get to a stage with it where all I do is dream or think about what I'd like to do instead of actually DOING it!
My crochet blanket has seen the benefit of this and has suddenly grown, so much so that I need to place an order for more yarn!  I think Im about 1/2 way through it now and it makes me very smiley when I look at it (which i find myself doing on a regular basis)  I had hoped to finish it in time for next winter but if I can keep the momentum up it may well be finished before this winter ends (we'll see Im only doing it whilst it's still enjoyable)

RV has had a bit of a 'chill' the past week which seemed to be improving but has either taken a turn back or he has picked up another virus.  At the moment he is suffering from chronic night fevers, sweats and shivers. Ibuprofen is the only thing that has touched it but it makes for a very disturbed sleep for him and leaves him feeling whacked out the next day - short energy bursts followed by long down time periods.  He was home for a couple of days last week and is again home today...a day or two of rest will hopefully give his little body the energy to kick the bug out once and for all.

So as I said, busy busy busy!

Fencing to be started this week, preparations for the chooks need to get a wriggle on and an order for the seeds needs to be done!

You know how it is...a mamas work is never done
:)
