Day 12 of the Holidays already
Crikey the week passed in a blur, a blur of time spent driving RV to and from soccer camp, driving all of us to and from swimming, a flurry of water fights, laundry {oh just so much extra laundry when all are home}, food {how can such small creatures consume so much?} and tidying the never ending but fun to make mess.

It was Grans birthday on Wednesday, she would have been 97.
The first year in my living memory that I have not sang Happy Birthday on the 3rd of August.
We went to the river last weekend with my sister and niece, we ate birthday cake to celebrate Gran!
It was lovely, the children paddled in the murky water, we fed the swans, we waved at the trains and were super excited when the drivers tooted their horns at us in return, we collected wild blackberries, we found Blue Forget Me Nots growing wild {a gift from Gran perhaps?}, we spotted a blind rabbit (probably not a gift from Gran although she did have a wicked sense of humour) - we spent family time together and Gran would have approved of.
{although I cant help but think she would have been happier with a brandy instead of the cake!}
It goes without saying but just in case in years to come I wonder; I miss her so terribly much.
She would have not enjoyed the hot weather of late, but would have loved to hear of the children having so much fun in the water,
she would have been suitably impressed by their tales of learning to swim, of how deep they went,
she would have slipped a couple of £'s to each of them for a lolly after a busy morning at the pool.
She would have told them the tale of how she and Grandpa went on their first date to a pool, where she fibbed that she could swim and how she nearly drowned when showing off to him!

No super exciting plans for this weekend, swimming for sure, a boot sale if the weather is good and a bit of good old fashioned gardening perhaps.
After so much running around and a bit of an odd start to the week the extra bits of housework that need to be done are still waiting....they wont just go away I know...I tried ignoring them to see if they would but they just dont.
Thankfully Fonzy will wake me early so I can do the boring bits first (hoover upstairs, change sheets and go through the bathroom) and enjoy the fun bits later on without that feeling that I should be doing something else. That will allow me to enjoy and be present when Im spending time with them.
Crafting has taken a firm backseat this week, maybe now we're not on a tight time schedule for RV it will pick up again, whatever the weekend brings I will not fight it but embrace it and go with the flow.

Thanks for popping by...I love to hear from you and really appreciate you taking the time.
I am sorry about having to ask you to prove you're not a robot but for some reason I am having a LOT of spam nowadays {and we're not talking fritters!}
