to those who wait.
Tis true, but sometimes in today's have it all now world and attitude it can be hard to find the patience!
I mentioned that I wanted a shelf to go in our crafting space to hold the pencil when we're not using them. I have been searching the boot sales, charity shops and the dumps for what seems like ages.
A planned trip to Ikea this coming weekend was going to end the wait (their sale has started & Im travelling near to one I've not been to before)
But Gran was watching and with good timing she sent this little beauty to me!
Found at the dump, new & unused (screws/wall plugs still attached) was this lovely handmade in England shelf.
I don't think I'll paint it. It's perfect size and has a bit of an unusual shape to it and once again the best bit is...
it was due for landfill and only cost £1!
Another little 'good luck' buy came our way at the boot sale this weekend.
I've been after phonics reading books - we have a number of Oxford Reading Tree ones, but not a whole set. Ive been pricing them up in the shops & online and they are expensive £20 doesn't seem to be far off the average.
However yet again a bit of patience has paid off and we picked this lovely set up
The first book I pulled out was 'Fat Cat on a Mat' just what Loopy has been creating herself at home!
The RRP though was a jaw dropping...
The set is complete and we have all 12 titles for £2.50! and the lady was trying to justify why she wanted so much. I explained that we were very happy to pay £2.50 and grateful to take them home with us.
So patience I must exercise, I do not need to have it all RIGHT NOW...all in good time
I feel like a lesson has been learnt (well re-learnt I think)
Living & Learning...still

We love phonics in our home! I taught K to read before she started reception class with the 'Jelly and Bean' reading scheme I bought on-line which has a very strong focus on phonics. We also used the Jolly Phonics board books you can find in WH.Smith's (There are seven titles) The best thing I bought though was the Jolly phonics CD with book with a song to teach each sound. K learnt all her sounds this way and loved it! If you don't already have it, I am sure you could get it for a few pence from Amazon market place, it really was fantastic!
