Today is Easter Sunday...

...but you wouldn't  really know it if you came to our house.  We have a simple Easter tree (small branches picked and covered in binding - which be decorated with seasonal ideas and festivals) on top of the TV, Easter chicks on the season table (bought many moons ago, yet despite being really quite neglected still going) and yes there are eggs from the Nannies in the fridge.
But that's all, chocolate from Nannies.  My sister and brother have given the children either gifts or money.
This is the first year for what must be 16yrs that we haven't bought chocolate eggs, in the past 5years or so we've bought them the day after Easter once they were 1/2 price.
Once Abba was diagnosed type 1 diabetic we for a couple of years stopped buying any eggs for the children, choosing to buy gifts but we would still buy chocolate eggs for Nannies.
This year we will hold fire on the chocolate eggs.

I had thought we would put more effort into celebrating Easter but in all honesty I think that was a step too BIG (IYSWIM?)  The very fact that we have NOT bought chocolate eggs marks a BIG step on the right path that I would like us to take .

I'm not sure if this something that we will manage to carry forward, but I am keen to step off the consumer tread mill, to lining the greedy pockets of the larger corporations.
Yes today I went shopping, at the boot sale where we had a stall to clear the bits that I couldn't fit in the car last week.
We have cleared our loft and cupboards of things that we now no longer use or need.
I spent the grand total of £6 and (truly) enjoyed a day with most of my brood.

Fonzys cot was sold today and it went to a lovely lady who was buying for her sisters baby.  The cot had little use with us, he did sleep in it but was considerably more comfy lying in-between Bob and I, where a quick dreamy feed was always available.

The point of this post?

Pointless I think.

To mark a day when Bob and I saw eye to eye on the less is more attitude that I really am trying to embrace?

Happy Easter

I am sorry about having to ask you to prove you're not a robot but for some reason I am having a LOT of spam nowadays {and we're not talking fritters!}
