Playtime...

I sold my lovely mei tai recently as we were no longer using it, it was a shame to see it sat there unloved and to be honest I wanted to re-invest the money into a few new toys for the little ones.  The sling is now being re-loved by a lovely mama and I've had a few pennies to spend.

After a bit of and ahhing in the Myriad online toy store an order was placed and lovelies had made it into our home.  Fonzy, Loopy & RV have all enjoyed what we have, the very fact they come with no instructions on how they 'should' be played with make them perfect for all.

Fonzy though has fallen in love with the little elves we have & their woodland home and yesterday we created a lovely little 'scene'.  Some bits I helped with as they wobbled too much for him to do alone but everything was put where he directed.
Put so he can peek out of the window & if your at Fonzies height perfect for you to peek into and say hello to!
Look carefully for a game of peek-a-boo.
With exception of the bird on the right, Fonzy placed these as he wanted.
And what surprised me most was the use of the play silk as water and our winter girl into the boat under the rainbow bridge.  Totally un-prompted.

Now after the school run yesterday we had intended a trip to the dump to take a nosey at the weekends takings, but the road was busy and we decided to go to another tip for a nosey.  The universe or Gran were listening to my wish list for there in the corner looking VERY dirty was the perfect easel for the garden and not at the jaw dropping £35 as listed in the store but a much more mamma friendly £3!
After a good clean by Loopy it was positively sparkling and later after a nap Fonzy put his artistic prowess into action.

And we all know that you must stick your tongue out to get the best results!

Now as if all this wasn't enough there was one more piece of luck that came our way.
With the last few pounds left in paypal I trekked through ebay to see if I could manage to find the fire engine to house in the fire station.  With just under £10 in there to be honest I really didn't hold out much hope...but the universe was once again listening and one was listed locally to us.
Ours for less than a tenner...
A wonderful red engine with its crew
Thankfully they arrived in time to save the elves from a major fire that swept through the tree house and also assisted in the rebuilding of the house. :)

We have played and played till our hearts content this week so far.  I chuckle in the evenings as I set a scene for Fonzy and Loopy to come down to in the morning.

I still have my wish list for the toys, most of it I think we can source from either the dump or the boot sales which are soon with us (YAY!)  There is something really quite satisfying to be able to buy (it really feels like Im being gifted in truth) the items I wish for that are pre-loved.  The hours of fun and enjoyment they have already given and the hours they will give - priceless.

A few things will need to be bought new, but things we have outgrown or no longer need will fund those and return hopefully bring more hours of fun and joy to others.
