A lovely little sign I picked up from the boot sale at the begining of the year. Cost a whopping £3 - which is a MASSIVE price for me to pay at a booty (but yes I know its a total bargain)! I totally love it and knew that it would find a home somewhere with us.
Ive recently bought for Fonzys corner of the boys room a little quote from my favourite story book 'Guess How Much I Love You' I love this book, Ive read it to all of them and am slowly working my way to having a copy for each of them in their boxes that we have in the loft for them. Hopefully they'll enjoy reading it to their children. Oh and it may take a while as Im picking the copies up at the boot sale :) (naturally)
Under Lollys bed is Loopys bed. Its a small one from Ikea that was RVs and will soon be Fonzys. I've yet to embroider/jazz up her cushions but I have made a cover for the foam headboard (which you cant really see to the left) and the lovely bunting! Well I think its lovely & the girls like it too. In truth its the first time Ive made it and can only say if Id realised just how easy it would be there would be more of it around the house already. It spells 'dream' total inspiration from 'Handmade Home'.
A wonky picture of the wonky pin boards! They look lovely but sadly the wood I used is beyond useless and the pins pop straight back out. Im sooo cross that I didnt think to check that bit out before cutting, glueing & stapling it all together. Like all my lessons in life I learn the hard way. A glimpse of the upcycled wardrobe behind the board. Once the room is tidied a bit I'll take a few snaps of it.
Lolly has decided she definately DOES want bunting now, so Im on the lookout for a lovely pastel blue polka dot fabric (think Cath Kidston) & she could also do with a 'something' to hold her many books in. Ive a few ideas in my head and will see what will work best. I think something that can go along the guard rails of her bed will be the best option - that way she can also hide bits from Loopy in it.
Abba's side of the room is still very much a work in progress, the junk from under what is now her cabin bed is slowly shifting. As its the holidays she's not home much, well she only comes home to wash n change! So her bed is being used as the holding area (read dumping ground). Once Ive posted this I will nip up and make a start on really tidying it up. She's re-homed all her bits & bobs and until I get something to put the kids bits in I cant see it getting better any time soon. But who cares the 'stuff' is there to be played with. A messy room set up like a hospital ward with dollys & teddies trussed in scarves acting as badages tells me the kids have got imagination
Wow that bunting is gorgeous! I love your pin board too - I have one like that with ribbons on it but I pop things behind the ribbon and never pin anything to it.
ReplyDeleteThat may be the way for me to go - add more ribbon to make the gaps smaller and more useful? I think Im going to wait and see, I got the board from the bootsale and will see if anything else turns up.
ReplyDeleteOr I could ask my father in law if he can help, he's amazing part beaver/part squirell. His garage is literally heaving under the strain of all the bits of wood.
:)
Yeah it works really well, I made it myself too and it stuffed full of photos, dentist appointments, tesco vouchers etc. Ooohh yes let your father in law get his teeth into it :-)
