Scandi-delicious...

You see, there is always a silver lining...

I have had this book on my list of 'wanties' for a while now

I bought the baking version online at the beginning of Autumn and having made several recipes from it I can quite happily report that it is a keeper.

This morning I popped into the charity shop and there it was sat as bold as brass waiting for me pick it up and just for £1.50!!

For a self confessed book addict this was a smashing Monday morning set up your week find!

Baking Days...

Yee- Ha

The cooler weather has switched my baking Mojo button back on...
inspired by Cupckakes and Biscuits lovely blog, the need to fill a gap before dinner for hungry school children and
my latest book 'Scandilicious'

We have been baking!

Lolly's cake, bread {improving each time!}, enough gingerbread men to form an army, apple pie, jams, chutneys, relish, lemon drizzle cake...
oh the list is growing daily!

Yesterday I added 'Santa Lucia buns' from Scandilicious baking, I wish I had a camera as they came out looking impressively similar to the photo's in the book and really quite delicious!
{Sour cherries are lovely}

There is something about this time of year,
the cold nights and the want of a sweet treat with my evening cuppa maybe?

The smells of the jamming?

Who knows
but I do know Im looking forward to weekends;

 home made bread,
{maybe I can improve my soup making this year so we can enjoy some hearty soups with that bread?}
experimenting with the slow cooker,
{bought last year but only having it's first use this week - shameful as I bought it to help save both money and time}
increasing the gingerbread army,
{quick, easy, tasty; perfect for my kiddos and the ever increasing number of stragglers}

non of it is fine dining, but all of it is made with a mamas love!
