It's easy when you feel all is against you to sit in your self made hole and wallow in the 'woe is me' fashion.
But you know what?
My darling Gran would have given me a hug and then told me get on with it!
So crack on I shall and remember that things could always be worse.
At the moment I cannot change a LOT of things.
Money with such a large family and 1 income will always be a 'sore' point. One day I will get back to work again and we will have pennies left at the end of the week.
So the upside to no car is that I no longer have to budget the weekly fuel allowance, the monthly car insurance payments are finished and the inevitable MOT failure is no longer nagging my mind.
I have to get into the routine of getting the kiddos up earlier so we are ready to leave earlier and on time.
Doing the grocery shopping online isn't such a big issue, again it will just take a bit of time to get used to it.
I will have to bite the bullet and visit the local town once a week, but maybe I can tie that into a library visit.
The miles on miles that I walk each day will no doubt have some positive effect on my health {although my left knee is protesting this at the moment!}
So there you have it there is nearly ALWAYS an upside, a positive. You might not want it but it is generally speaking there.
Of course I sit here typing this this in the glow of yet another warm and reasonably sunny day...I'll let you know once I've had to do the 3 times to the school per day in the pouring rain and still manage to see that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!
Chin up and all that jazz
*{insert jazzy hands here}*
PS
The kiddos have had a blast playing outside almost every day for I can't even count how many days! Roll on dry, warm days...
see it as a challenge and an adventure! Hope it all works out for you! And yay for the lovely warm weather!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt will work out, it generally does but I do seem to love a moan during the process ;)

I could have written the exact same post! We are now a one car family and although I love not having extra bills etc I find the lunch time nursery run hard! Whiny toddlers are special....still waiting for the extra pounds to fall off me though xxx
ReplyDelete'Special'...there is something so very 'special' about a boy who nags/moans the whole journey home! I've given up with the afternoon run, he is after all still only 4 so he takes a ride in the pusher for that trip and has taken to having a much needed nap...see another good to come out of it

PS
Im also still waiting to see any sign of weight loss!
I walk everywhere, and it takes up loads of my day, but it does mean I can eat more chocolate...though, yeah my hip complains. :(
ReplyDeleteKeep on keeping on. x
I never thought I would be the one with an achey knee, we all just keep on keeping on...aches n all!

Stupid me - I should have read this post first. sorry if my previous reply sounded patronising - that was not my intention. Sorry that life is throwing lots of curve balls your way - I hope that you are fielding them nicely back!
