Finished standard lamp...

By sheer luck I managed to find the online source for the inspired choice of a turquoise standard lamp!!
It was over at Gilly Flower blog

also...

I had been flipping through old issues of Country Living and Ideal Home and found an advert from March 2012 Country Living which has a wonderfully bright turquoise blue standard lamp in it.

I also have to confess a bit of a blog 'crush' at the moment
Im completely loving Anrinko's
The freshness of the colours in her home are so refreshing, the repurposing of all things into very pretty and practical things is inspiring and the fact that she has a very healthy dash of turquoise around her home is surely another plus+

I used the ever wonderful Annie Sloan paints for my lamp, mixing Provence and Louis Blue till I had the shade I wanted....

It will sit quite happily in our dining/play/everything else room, fitting snugly in the corner.  I've yet to choose a lampshade for it, not sure if I want a plain white one or a lovely folksy one from Ikea!?  Decisions, decisions, will all depend on what I can source.

Next time I may try Farrow and Ball for a brighter shade, but for our home the above works very well

I had enough paint leftover to paint another standard lamp I had in stock for Priddy Priddy, we'll see if that was a good choice or not come September at the next Vintage Fair.

I am sorry about having to ask you to prove you're not a robot but for some reason I am having a LOT of spam nowadays {and we're not talking fritters!}
