1/2 term holidays...

!! Woo-Hoo and Woop de Diddly Do  !!

Spot the mama who forgot that the holidays were coming!  Completely forgot till the end of last week which resulted in a flurry of activity.  Then on Sunday RV pushed all the wrong buttons and boundaries and is very sadly on a grounding for this week.  Wasn't an easy thing to decide to do..but he is at an age when he knows what he's saying/doing is wrong, rude and sometimes hurtful.
Sooo a week at home not allowed to play out the front with his buddies.

Monday we had his buddies around to play as it was just such a nice sunny day and they had one of the best days they've had in yonks!  Games inside when it was chilly and footy out the back once the sun warmed up.  Loopy went to town with Lolly on the bus and thought herself quite the lady that lunches :)

Tuesday is grocery shopping day and non of us were really looking forward to it so we chilled out at home for the morning...the kiddos are making a halloween paper bunting to put out with the pumpkins.  We played cars, did lots of colouring .
I gathered my yarn into a basket and now 'need' to make a big blanket for the winter, a nice big one that will use up whatever yarn I have and quite possibly more?  Whether it will go on the bed or the sofa will be seen, I think the sofa as I have something in blue and red planned in my head for the bed. (oh that rhymes!)
In the end we didn't make it to the store until late in the afternoon and first things into the trolley?? ...PUMPKINS!
I'm hoping they will last, we'll pop them out on the patio to keep cool and they'll make nice eye candy on the grey days we've got ahead (rain forecast)

Wednesday and Thursday passed in a wet whirl...we must have done 'something' but for the life of me I can't remember what!

Friday we took a day trip to London...just me and the 4younger ones.  We left the pusher in the car at the station a deliberate to do.  I'm pretty glad on the whole that we did.  Since I sold my last sling I've missed the closeness to Fonzy when we go out so hand holding was in order for the day.  Now he is only just 3yrs old and still needs a nap most days, especially on days when he's walking around for as many miles as we covered!  So what to do? Well my scarf doubled up lovely as a comfy sling and he had a super nap for just over an hour in it as we wandered the streets of Soho and China Town.
More on our day out in the next post...lots of photo's to share

Saturday was soccer practice for RV and when he came home I let him out and off his grounding, he had been just so well behaved through the week and especially helpful in London.
Seemed only fair in my opinion :)

For a week that sneaked up on me in a rather underhand way I have to say I enjoyed myself enormously, the not having to get up and run hubby to work for a couple of mornings meant I had a couple of PJ mornings a rare and much enjoyed treat!

Im looking forward to Halloween tomorrow, to carving the pumpkins and a spot of trick or treating with our neighbours and friends.

Thanks for popping by...I love to hear from you and really appreciate you taking the time.
I am sorry about having to ask you to prove you're not a robot but for some reason I am having a LOT of spam nowadays {and we're not talking fritters!}
