and back into the swing of things.
Its taken soo long, longer than maybe it should have to get back into our stride. We're still not fully in the swing of things but definately on the way there.
Boring things like the housework, the never ending (and constantly breeding) pile of laundry is getting sorted. And that in itself is a lightening feeling, being able to walk past the laundry bags without falling over the overflow is indeed refreshing and although I value the 'combat skills' Ive developed in dodging it on my night time (lights out) trip to the loo I can honestly say that Im not misssing the experience! :)
Perhaps its been the sun thats made a windy appearance thats lightened the mood (& load).
Fun things now seem like fun things! For a while Ive been pretending to have fun with the kids. Thats a sad thing to say but its true. Ive played cars, trains, read books but at times its been 'work' not fun. Now I can happily say thats its back to fun.
We're back at home ed group, its been nice to chat to others who understand it, who have been in similar situations to you. Ive chatted to a dad today who has been home edding for the past 7years, 1child since 10yrs old (who's now doing 3Alevels), 1since 7yrs(doing a GCSE) and 1 who's never been to school (again doing a GCSE). Through ups & downs and more importantly in their own time they've learnt to read, write BUT most importantly of all they've learnt to educate themselves.
Still feeling shakey on the home edding side of things, part of me feels that Im not 'doing' enough but the other part listens to those who have been 'doing' it for years and swear that the children alone will educate themselves if given the chances to learn & their parents time.
So for now more reading, writing practice, drawings, maths (cant quite believe it but Im finding the numbers work easier but thats maybe because Loopy enjoys numbers) and hopefully lots more fun!
Ive painted the kitchen over the Christmas holidays and found a bargain shelf at the dum of all places. With a lick of paint it looks fabby and fits perfectly. And what would that bargain price be? Would it be the £47.99 that I saw for a shelf in a Windsor shop? Nope it was the amazing price of £3. I kid you not, photos to follow as Im just so darned happy with it.
The garden has also had a bit of attention. I've hacked the lavender down ruthlessly, chopped the rose bush, cleared some of the rubbish from it. Its a work in progress - scarey in the scale of it and it might be the work of a couple of years but it'll get done.
Life is good for now.

I am sorry about having to ask you to prove you're not a robot but for some reason I am having a LOT of spam nowadays {and we're not talking fritters!}
