Friday Baking...shortbread

Not my best attempt.  I have started to doubt myself in a few ways recently and keep referring back to the manuals, following instruction even if the 'gut' tells me not to.  Must start to listen to me a bit more carefully.
When done right this is a lovely recipe, I took a peek 15mins before the timer was due to beep and it looked delicious but the recipe said 15mins more and thats what it got...turns out to be be 15mins too much.  Not inedible but certainly not the soft, slightly chewy number I was hoping for.

It has been a rotten week in truth, the night of the day I posted Grans picture she had a horrible fall and has broken not just her nose but also her cheeks.  Despite looking like shes gone 12 rounds the a heavyweight boxer, being in pain and generally very shook up she is in suprisingly good spirits.  I keep saying it but ladies of that age are as tough as old boots!
In case youre wondering what age that would be, Gran is 95.  95years of history, experience, love and so much more.  Her stories really deserve their own blog, she was a bit of a wild child when younger, a bit cheeky, someone who lived life to enjoy it...its how she still lives her life.

Not much crafting been happening here this week.  Knitting is NOT my passion, I love the yarns and end results but most days I dont find the needles of comfort.  I enjoy sewing, Im not good at it but I'll give it a good go...but getting the machine out means clearing the dining table, which means clearing cubboard space, which means finding space for those bit...you get the picture.  What starts out to be a whim of wanting to let the creative juices flow turns into a lesson in domestic housekeeping.
At the end of the day we are the family who lived in a shoe, at least thats how it feels at times.

Oh and before I forget it happened or imagine it to be a dream...Im whispering so it doesnt hear me, I saw the bottom of the white laundry basket today...ssshhhhh, ssshhhhh dont let it hear you or it will realise its empty and magically refill again but honestly I really did see it.

Thanks for popping by...I love to hear from you and really appreciate you taking the time.
I am sorry about having to ask you to prove you're not a robot but for some reason I am having a LOT of spam nowadays {and we're not talking fritters!}
