Baking day...

so the 'big' freeze continues and cabin fever is setting in. Only so many days of sledging can entertain all for long. So today with the cubboards looking a bit bare #5 & I took to baking. As its Friday Cupcakes were in order and as its cold some nice warming Gingerbread seemed a good idea too.


We started with the Cupcakes which haven't come out entirely right as the recipe was changed at the last minute to Chocolate from Vanilla. Even so they smell divine & look yummy.



There cant be many things that smell as good as gingerbread cooking in the oven

and the fruits of our labour, just need a nice cuppa to sit down with them now

More snow is predicted, the children have all had another week off from school. Its hard to motivate them to keep up with their school homework and reading when the snow is so perfect for going out in. Much more though and we will seek out something officially more educational to do. Our nature & home ec is current and up to date at least!

I may set myself the task of Friday cakes..an excuse to bake & blog - perfect!
